Abrex Plates are a special type of plates used for abrasion resistance. Abrex is a known mark of the plates that have light weight and high wear and tear resistance and corrosion resistance. Multi Metals (India) is a leading manufacturer and supplier of the abrasion resistant stainless steel plate types in various dimensions, types and grades. The brinell hardness of the different types of plates ranges according to the composition. There are two types of wear resistant stainless steel plate products as standard type and extra tough type.
The standard type has ABREX 400, 450, 500 and 600. The extra tough Abrex Steel Plates have ABREX 400LT, 450LT and 500LT. The Brinell hardness ranges from 400HBW for Abrex 400 to 600HBW in Abrex 600 plates. The material has high hardness and can crack under high temperature welding there are different preheating temperatures for different grades. The abrex 500 plates can be preheated up to 175 degrees Celsius for plate thickness of 100mm. The plate thickness influences the preheating as well. The lesser the plate thickness, the lower the preheating temperatures will be.
The abrex 450 plates with plate thickness less than 25mm can be preheated up to 75 degrees Celsius. The material has good machining and forming characteristics.
