API 5L X52 PSL2 Seamless Pipe and L360 PSL1 material Supplier

API 5l X52 Pipe is a low carbon steel pipe that has 52ksi minimum yield strength. This specification of the American Petroleum Industries covers seamless and welded pipes. These have differences in the chemical composition.

The PSL1 has carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, vanadium, niobium and titanium in the composition where the API 5l X52 Psl2 has only manganese, phosphorus and sulfur with trace amounts of vanadium, niobium and titanium. The silicon content is missing. The L360 Pipe can range from 2 inches to 24 inches in outer diameters with wall thicknesses varying up to 250mm. The wall thicknesses and the outer diameter combinations bring about the different schedules in the API 5l X52 DSAW Pipe products ranging from sch10 through XXS.

The PSL1 is the most commonly used type where the PSL2 has added mechanical qualities and is less common. The API 5l X52 ERW Pipe is made through electric resistant welding where the other forms of production are also available. The pipes could be welded with various methods. Most conventional methods can be used. Depending on the application of the API 5l X52m pipes and the welding procedures, the preheating might be required with or without filler material for welding.
