ASTM A672 C70 Pipe is used for high pressure applications at atmospheric temperatures and at lower temperatures. The pipes are made by electric fusion welding of pressure vessel grade plates with the use of filler materials. The ASTM A672 Gr C70 Pipe also has a larger diameter range of 16 inches to 100 inches. The wall thickness of the pipes range from 1mm to 150mm and the length ranges up to 13m as single random, double random and cut to length sizes. The A672 C70 Cl 22 Pipe can be welded with conventional methods. The composition of the pipe has carbon, manganese, silicon, sulfur and phosphorus which make the pipes harder and tougher. Therefore, high temperatures can damage the pipe’s ductility. To avoid this, the A672 Gr C70 Cl 22 Pipe has to be preheated before welding with high temperature methods.
If the pipes are to be welded with other grades of pipes, then filler materials have to be used. The ASTM A672 C70 Cl 22 Pipe is used in applications such as oil and gas, petroleum, marine, ship building and in fertilizer industries where the pressure is high but the temperature is low or at atmospheric temperatures.
