en 10083-2 pipe is a carbon steel or mild steel pipe type. The pipes and tubes of this specification are low cost and low carbon steels. The EN 10083-2 GRADE C45 Carbon Steel Seamless Pipes and Tubes range in tensile strength up to 430MPa. There are cold rolled, hot rolled and cold worked pipes and tubes in the Grade C40/c45e Cs Pipe specifications. The material has high strength but not high hardness as the high carbon steel pipes. They can be hardened by carburizing procedures. The low carbon content in the Bs En 10083-2 C22e/c35 Pipe can be welded with conventional welding methods.
Since the material transfers heat well, it can withstand welding point heat but preheating and filler materials might be necessary depending on the welding type and the application requirements. The pipes can be ERW, EFW, fabricated or EN 10083-2 C45 Seamless Tubes by production type. The pipes and tubes are flexible and are used in marine, food processing, petroleum and oil and gas industries.
