Hardox Extreme-steel for extreme abrasion resistance is one of the grades of hardox steel plates. The hardox material is abrasion resistant, corrosion resistant and of high strength. There are different grades of the material and the Hardox 600 - Extra hard and tough steel for extreme wear is very high corrosion resistant and abrasion resistant. The hardness of the material is 650-700HBW. The applications are some of the highest abrasion risking components such as liner plates. The Hardox Extreme Plates are the hardest of all the grades in the hardox family.
The wall thickness of these plates range from 8mm to 19mm, the widths range up to 2000mm and the length ranges up to 14630mm. The chemical composition of the Abrasion Resistant Hardox Extreme Steel Plate includes 1.4% manganese, carbon, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, nickel, molybdenum and boron in the composition. This composition provides the material with minimum yield strength up to 1400MPa. The Hardox Extreme Sheets have to be carefully bent, folded and welded. With the high hardness, they can spring back while bending, and can crack under elevated temperature welding.
