jis g3455 pipe is a mild steel pipe that is used in low cost applications. The low carbon steel is cost effective and can be used in general corrosive services. Multi Metals (India) is a leading manufacturer and supplier of the jis g 3455 sts 410 and other grades of the pipes. The material contains carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus and sulfur in the composition. The jis g 3455 sts 370 pipe is strong and has 370MPa minimum tensile strength.
The 410 grade has 412MPa minimum tensile strength and there are other grades such as the jis g 3455 sts 35 that are used mostly in petroleum, oil and gas industrial applications. The pipes range in outer diameters from 10.5mm to 114.5mm depending on the schedules as well. There are sch40 through XXS in the JIS G3455 Carbon Steel High Pressure Pipe types. The pipes can withstand high pressure and are made seamless during production. The pipe material has good thermal conductivity and transfers heat faster than austenitic grades of steel. The JIS G3455 Grade STS 370 Carbon Steel Seamless Pipes can be welded with ordinary welding methods without preheating or filler materials.
But the application of filler materials and post weld heat treatment is possible. The JIS G3455 Grade STS 480 Carbon Steel Seamless Pipes have the most carbon content with 0.33% max. The 510 grade has the highest yield and tensile strengths. It has 481MPa minimum tensile strength and 275MPa minimum yield strength.
