Duplex 2205 Tube is one of the most used grade of duplex stainless steel tube. Even though there are standard duplex, super duplex and lean duplex grades of steels, the most commonly used is the standard duplex. Multi Metals (India) is a leading manufacturer and supplier of these tubes in various specifications, standards and sizes. The Duplex 2205 Tubing has both austenitic and ferritic features. It can have minimum yield strength of 70ksi and minimum tensile strength of 95ksi.
The hardness of the material is at 217HBW max. The composition includes carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum, 4.5% nickel and nitrogen. This specific combination is responsible for the Duplex 2205 seamless tubes to be corrosion resistant. The material is corrosion resistant to most acidic solutions and to chloride ion corrosion cracking. The applications of the UNS S31803 Tubing include chemical processing, transportation and storage, piping, heat exchangers and in pressure vessels.
There are special brands and renown types such as the tuberia duplex 2205 which are preferred for their high corrosion resistance, temperature resistance and pressure capacities.
